Solutions to common problems of CNC engraving and milling machines

In the daily use of carving and milling machines, there may be some small problems that can generally be solved by themselves. Below, engineers from Xintenghui will explain the solutions one by one.


1. The engraving and milling machine is not powered on when turned on. Check if the start button cable is properly connected and if the button is burnt out; Check whether the AC contactor is short circuited or burnt out; Check if the emergency stop switch is turned on; Check if the safety wire is burnt out.


2. The spindle motor of the engraving and milling machine does not rotate or reverses. Check the parameter settings of the frequency converter; Is the signal line of the frequency converter reversed? Swap any two of the three wires connected to the motor on the frequency converter. Check if the wires connecting the frequency converter to the control box are in good contact. If the wiring of the frequency converter is intact, the motor will be damaged if it does not rotate.


3. The processed product is deformed and the sending software cannot be opened normally. Reinstall new systems and software; Check if the XY axis screw and screws are loose; Check if the tool has any issues.


4. The depth of the plane processed by the carving and milling machine varies. Loose or faulty control card; Servo motor malfunction; Driver malfunction or inconsistency between current subdivision and software settings; Z-axis motor line fault; Main spindle motor malfunction; Inverter interference or incorrect data settings; Static interference; Computer viruses or system issues.


5. During processing, the spindle noise is too loud. Check if the temperature outside the spindle is normal. If the temperature is too high, check if the oil cooler is working properly. If the oil cooler is working abnormally, it should be stopped immediately and used only after the oil cooler has been repaired and returned to normal. If the oil cooler is working properly, the spindle manufacturer should be contacted to repair the spindle.


6. Bit limit phenomenon occurs during the processing. Check if the processing program path exceeds the processing range; Soft limit bits for parameter settings in software;


7. The CNC engraving and milling machine has a phenomenon of tool smashing. The power of the Z-axis motor is insufficient, and the coupling is loose; The current of the Z-axis driver is too low, or the signal line is connected incorrectly; Check if the Z-axis motor wire is properly plugged in.


8. Is there a virus on the computer? Press up but go down, and do not lift the Z-axis during a certain section of X-axis movement. Check the power and driver current, verify if the Z-axis motor is running properly, and check if there are any poor contacts or intermediate breaks in the Z-axis motor wires.
